“A cult classic”

“For such a low-budget film, it is beautifully photographed and contains some inspired, yet deceptively simple visual effects”
DVD review

“Few performances equal Bruno’s in The Quiet Earth. I can only think of Spencer Tracey in The Old Man and the Sea to match his solo role. Tracey held the audience for twenty minutes; Bruno kept the audience on the edge of their seats for twice that time”
John O’Shea

“…the kind of film I Am Legend can only dream about being”

Scientist Zac Hobson (Bruno Lawrence) wakes one morning to discover he is alone in the world. The global energy project which he has been working on for a year, has changed the world. Humanity has been wiped out.

Zac begins a frantic search for other survivors. At the same time he has the chance to live out his fantasies. In a world where excess and wealth have no meaning, he switches from dwelling to dwelling and vehicle to vehicle. He soon realises the emptiness and loneliness of his nightmare situation…

The discovery of two survivors, first a woman (Alison Routledge) and then a man (Peter Smith) sets the scene for a critical struggle for survival.
