Nine years after Discovery’s fateful mission to Jupiter, a joint Russian and American crew on board the Russian-built Leonov head to the far reaches of the solar system in search of answers. Determined to solve the mystery of HAL 9000’s apparent malfunction, and Dave Bowman’s cryptic final message, Dr Heywood Floyd (Roy Scheider), R.
