Dr Charles Forbin (Eric Braeden) has created a powerful computer, Colossus, which is capable of controlling America’s nuclear defences. Shortly after being turned on though, it detects the presence of a previously unknown Russian equivalent called Guardian, and the two insist on being linked. Merging into a single supercomputer it takes immediate control, issuing its own demands for the management of Earth, and ruthlessly putting down any dissent…
