The Cold War is at its height and top American physicist Dr Lucas Martino (Joseph Bova) is horribly injured in a car crash while attending a conference in East Germany. Inside a mangled body his brilliant brain ticks on, unimpaired, leading Russian Colonel Azarin (Trevor Howard) to undertake a complete cybernetic reconstruction. But when the scientist is returned to the United States encased in a metal mask and body-suit, FBI agent Sean Rogers (Elliot Gould) suspects that he is not who he claims to be…

“This clever Cold War thriller is a fine study of dehumanisation and alienation.”

“A stunning performance from Joseph Bova as the scientist Martino.”
Radio Times

“A well-written oddity.”
Cinema Sentries

“A neat allegory about the way the covert war between the great powers takes individual human beings and dehumanizes them.”
Science Fiction Film Source Book

“Joseph Bova gives a beautiful, underplayed performance as diminutive US scientist Martino.”

The film will be preceded by a talk from Professor Coral Dando, Professor of Psychology at University of Westminster and previously a Metropolitan police officer, who will discuss investigative interview techniques and how to detect deception.

Coral spent 12 years as a London Police Officer before entering academia in the field of psychology. She teaches forensic psychology, covering topics such as detecting deception, eyewitness memory and the psychology of torture and radicalisation.
